At Hygiene Jet, we have simplified the process of determining the bowl type.  Please follow these short and simple diagrams.

Elongated VS. Round Bowl 

Most of the residential toilet fixtures in the U.S. are categorized either in Elongated Bowl or Round Bowl.  The diagram below illustrates the measurement to determine the Bowl Type.  Hygiene Jet offers bidets to fit over both Elongated and Round bowl toilets.

Round Bowl - measurement taken as shown on the diagram is 16.5 inches or less.  As shown below, the rim of bowl appears to be in circular in shape.

Elongated Bowl - measurement taken as shown on the diagram is 16.5 or more.  As shown below, the rim of bowl appears to have a pointy front.

1 Piece VS. 2 Piece Toilet

The main difference between the 1 piece VS. 2 piece toilets is the water tank. The 1 piece toilet tank and bowl is molded as a single seamless unit where the tank is integral part of the bowl.  The 2 piece toilet tank and bowl is separated where both pieces are bolted together to form the toilet.  Hygiene Jet offers bidets to fit over both 1 piece and 2 piece toilets.  Most of our Coco and Feel Fresh (Hi series) will fit both the 1 piece and 2 piece toilets.

Electrical Requirements

The electric model bidets must be plugged into a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt) outlet. The GFCI outlet is generally required near sources of water particularly in bathrooms.  The bidet power cord typically is 3-4 feet in length; running an extension cord is perfectly acceptable as well.

The electrical plug-in is not available for the Non-electric model bidets.

Plumbing Requirements

The bidets are compatible with most of the residential toilet fixtures in the U.S.  Each bidet includes a plumbing kit to connect it into the existing toilet tank water supply line.  The kit includes a T-connector and bidet water supply line.   Some models also include an inline water filter.  In some case that your existing toilet tank water supply line is not flexible, you may require to purchase a flexible line to complete the installation.
